It's been 19 months...

It has been 19 months since I made a real blog post. That is crazy to me. Sometimes I don't realize how quickly time is passing by, we get caught up in the daily routines and the weekly schedules. Then I log on and realize my little world on the internet is horribly out dated. Being away for so long makes it hard to just jump right back in. I have so many ideas and projects floating around my head, I just didn't know where to start.

I have spent months logging in, looking at the back end of this blog, starting a post and never finishing it. But, I realized I missed blogging about so many important things that have happened in our lives the past 19 months and I wish I could go back and just jump in with random updates. I started this blog to keep our family and friends updated in our journey in Indiana, which I have failed terribly! Thankfully I am a Facebook addict or they would barely know our son if they relied on this blog. I hope to get better about that. I won't promise, I have promised posts in the past and then I fall off the face of the earth. For now, let's just say blogging again is goal of mine!

To prepare for this post, I did some research on Twenty63 to see what the most popular post have been thus far. Can I just take a moment to scream a huge THANK YOU to every one who still visits daily/weekly? Over the past 19 months, Twenty63 has averaged 4,500 visitors a month, which is crazy to me since I haven't posted any new content in ages. You all love recipes, this banana bread recipe is the hottest little thing at Twenty63 and has 1,800+ new viewers each month. Crazy talk! You all also love printables, the home management binder printables (found hereherehere and here) come in second with over 600 new viewers each month. Insane to me, but really thank you for sticking around!

Over the last 19 months a ton has changed in our lives, most if not all of the changes revolve around our son, whom I still need to introduce! In the coming months, you can expect new printables - our household binder is grossly outdated so I really need to focus on that. Our cleaning schedules are nonexistent and needs updating and now I use a meal planner that I created to help out our grocery budget and weekly meals; all of which I plan on sharing. We would also love to knock out some home updates! We haven't done a project in 19 months and there are a million things we need to do. So stay tuned because it will start to pick up around here.

Tonight I took the first step in meeting my goal - I baked some banana bread and finally updated the About Us section, which you can check out here if you so desire! :)

And she's back!

How does time fly so fast? I feel like I was just posting my bathroom update yesterday (I still owe you a breakdown of that update, I haven't forgot), but that was clearly over a year ago. Oh, how so much has changed in our household! We are no longer a family of two - we are a family of three, which includes an insanely active 14 month old man child! He is awesome. Everything I ever hoped him to be and more. I can't wait to catch you all up on the happenings in our world and dive back into home projects and organization, which we need more than anything around here!

If you are still reading and visiting this blog then you seriously need an award. But, thanks for sticking around. You may or may not have noticed I have been updating my blog layout, a simple template was needed to keep me sane. I think I finally created something I love, so it may stick around for awhile.

I plan to be back permanently after this holiday weekend. Until then, I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Fourth of July!

Bathroom Update

In my last post {a month ago} I mentioned we were starting the new year with a bathroom change up. A long over due change up. We decided to work on the guest bathroom (aka my bathroom). We have two full baths in our house, one in the "hallway" upstairs and one in the master bedroom. The master bedroom bathroom has a huge tub and a small standing shower, I hate the shower. I love the tub but I don't take a bath very often. So, the guest bathroom quickly became my personal bathroom when we moved it. I don't mind it being in the hallway and honestly I think separate bathrooms save my marriage :)

Here is the before:

The same yellow color we have slowly been painting over, builder grade mirror and light fixture (which you can't see) and a builder basic vanity. I hated this vanity. It had absolutely no storage, the bottom was just one big open section. No shelves, so it had a ton of wasted space. The drawers, if that is what you want to call them, were so tiny that my eye shadow would only fit sideways. They were as wide as a travel size container of q-tips. Plus, the middle section that looks like a drawer in the picture was a fake drawer since the sink bowl was in the middle of the vanity. Also, the curtain rod was an extension rod left by the previous owners which wasn't long enough to completely tighten. We had it resting on the lip of the shower surround. I had it fall off and hit me in the head many times over the last two years. It was time to go.

Doing this project while I was 25 weeks pregnant was a challenge in and of itself, so sadly I only have one before and one after picture. The "after" isn't complete yet, I still have a few things to add, so I am sure you will see more of it over time. But, enough of the chit chat and lets see some progress!!

Here is the current "after":

Can I just say I absolutely LOVE it!! I seriously feel like I am in a spa every time I use it, I thank the color mostly for that feel. This is the first room that isn't a neutral color. I was nervous at first but I think it was a perfect choice. I still think this is Phase 1 of the bathroom re-do, I still need to find a rug or two that I like and I am thinking of some type of art.

Check back as I will be posting a follow up with the price breakdown and where we got everything.
