Menu Plan Monday - Week #1

This is the first full week of the new year and I have been so excited to knock the dust off this blog and get involved again. The month of December didn't go exactly as planned - sickness, hospital stays and unplanned surgeries rocked our house, on top of the holidays. To say we are glad to yell goodbye to 2014 is an understatement! We made a lot of great memories in 2014 but it was a very stressful year as well. Time to start fresh and get control of our life and house again.

One thing that we use to do all the time was meal plan. Over the past few months, I simple got out of the habit of meal planning and going grocery shopping on Sundays in general. During the week we would race around after work trying to figure out what we were having for dinner. It made our work weeks stressful and hectic. My husband hated the 3:20pm text that only said "Dinner?". It wasn't working. One of the greatest things we are bringing back in 2015 is Menu Plan Monday!

Monday: Pepper Jack Chicken Bake over Rice
courtesy of Pinterest - I will let you all know how this turns out
Tuesday: Chicken Alfredo with Garlic Bread
Wednesday: Crock pot Ham & Potato Soup
Thursday: Tacos & Rice
Friday: Pork Chops, Baked Potatoes and Green Beans
Saturday: Left overs

My breakfast for the week will include oatmeal and fruit or a slice of banana nut bread with fruit. My husband, if he decides to eat anything, will either be a banana or a sausage, egg and cheese muffin. My son will eat breakfast at daycare since he normally gets there around 7:15am.

My lunch for the week will include turkey or tuna sandwiches, pretzels, fruit cup and a yogurt. The Mr. will eat either a ham and cheese or a bologna and cheese sandwich, chips, fruit snacks, crackers and a yogurt. We both normally eat out for lunch on Friday.

Excited to see how much money and time this saves us during the week since we are starting with a plan. I am linking up with Org Junkie, so hop on over if you are looking for additional meal ideas!

Do you meal plan? If so, what is on your menu for this week?

It's been 19 months...

It has been 19 months since I made a real blog post. That is crazy to me. Sometimes I don't realize how quickly time is passing by, we get caught up in the daily routines and the weekly schedules. Then I log on and realize my little world on the internet is horribly out dated. Being away for so long makes it hard to just jump right back in. I have so many ideas and projects floating around my head, I just didn't know where to start.

I have spent months logging in, looking at the back end of this blog, starting a post and never finishing it. But, I realized I missed blogging about so many important things that have happened in our lives the past 19 months and I wish I could go back and just jump in with random updates. I started this blog to keep our family and friends updated in our journey in Indiana, which I have failed terribly! Thankfully I am a Facebook addict or they would barely know our son if they relied on this blog. I hope to get better about that. I won't promise, I have promised posts in the past and then I fall off the face of the earth. For now, let's just say blogging again is goal of mine!

To prepare for this post, I did some research on Twenty63 to see what the most popular post have been thus far. Can I just take a moment to scream a huge THANK YOU to every one who still visits daily/weekly? Over the past 19 months, Twenty63 has averaged 4,500 visitors a month, which is crazy to me since I haven't posted any new content in ages. You all love recipes, this banana bread recipe is the hottest little thing at Twenty63 and has 1,800+ new viewers each month. Crazy talk! You all also love printables, the home management binder printables (found hereherehere and here) come in second with over 600 new viewers each month. Insane to me, but really thank you for sticking around!

Over the last 19 months a ton has changed in our lives, most if not all of the changes revolve around our son, whom I still need to introduce! In the coming months, you can expect new printables - our household binder is grossly outdated so I really need to focus on that. Our cleaning schedules are nonexistent and needs updating and now I use a meal planner that I created to help out our grocery budget and weekly meals; all of which I plan on sharing. We would also love to knock out some home updates! We haven't done a project in 19 months and there are a million things we need to do. So stay tuned because it will start to pick up around here.

Tonight I took the first step in meeting my goal - I baked some banana bread and finally updated the About Us section, which you can check out here if you so desire! :)

And she's back!

How does time fly so fast? I feel like I was just posting my bathroom update yesterday (I still owe you a breakdown of that update, I haven't forgot), but that was clearly over a year ago. Oh, how so much has changed in our household! We are no longer a family of two - we are a family of three, which includes an insanely active 14 month old man child! He is awesome. Everything I ever hoped him to be and more. I can't wait to catch you all up on the happenings in our world and dive back into home projects and organization, which we need more than anything around here!

If you are still reading and visiting this blog then you seriously need an award. But, thanks for sticking around. You may or may not have noticed I have been updating my blog layout, a simple template was needed to keep me sane. I think I finally created something I love, so it may stick around for awhile.

I plan to be back permanently after this holiday weekend. Until then, I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Fourth of July!
